St. Paul-based baking company announces bagel recall

A St. Paul-based baked goods company is warning consumers some of its bagels could have been contaminated with nut products due to a mistake by the ingredient supplier.

National Choice Bakery announced a bagel recall Monday because of possible undeclared peanuts or tree nuts that could pose a serious threat to people with food allergies. The recall was initiated after the company discovered peanuts and almonds were found in gluten from a single supplier used in the affected products, including Market Pantry, L'Oven Fresh, Village Hearth, Dan's Pantry, Kroger and Lender's bagels.

The company is encouraging anyone who has questions to reach out for more information.

National Choice Bakery says no illnesses have been reported.
