This weekend marks the 35th anniversary of the game that became known as the Miracle on Ice.

That U.S. Olympic Men's Hockey Team was made up of amateurs and college athletes. It included more players from Minnesota than any other state and was coached by Minnesota's Herb Brooks. They defeated a feared and storied Red Army Soviet national team that had won gold at six of the previous seven Olympics.

We love to regale this chapter in sports and Cold War history and we love the frequent Minnesota connections to that game.

But what became of the Russians on the team that lost the game and didn't even medal in the Olympics that year? A new documentary, "Red Army," tells their story.

"Red Army" opened at The Uptown Theatre Feb. 13.
