Today's Morning Edition music starts off with a track from John Coltrane's acclaimed album "A Love Supreme," which was released 50 years ago this month.

It's near the top of many lists of the greatest jazz albums of all time.

Coltrane wrote that the album was the result of a spiritual awakening that began in 1957.

To mark the anniversary, the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis will host a concert Thursday night. The New Orleans-based Campbell Brothers will perform Coltrane's music with special emphasis on the album's spiritual message.

The Campbell Brothers are known for their unique take on gospel music played on the steel guitar.
