Prince boosts a song he heard on Christian radio
Today's Morning Edition music is from "What If," a new song by Prince and Third Eye Girl that was released over the weekend.
In an interview, Third Eye Girl drummer Hannah Welton said that Prince heard the song while listening to Christian radio. It was written and first performed by Nichole Nordeman.
Nordeman posted this on her Facebook page: "Prince heard a song about the transforming love of Jesus on Christian radio and now has given it a much wider audience than I ever did or could." She likened it to Tiger Woods asking to borrow your golf clubs.
The song debuted on a radio station in Louisville, where Prince spent the weekend for the first four shows of his Hit and Run tour.
