Single-game tickets are now on sale for the St. Paul Saints' first season in their new Lowertown ballpark.

Team spokesman Sean Aronson said enthusiastic fans bundled up to be the first in line to get tickets at 9 a.m. today. Fans who showed up in person to buy tickets got a sneak preview of CHS Field and their seats. The ballpark is nearly complete with about 95 percent of the seats already installed.

Online and phone sales were brisk as well.

"The phones didn't stop ringing for a good half hour, 45 minutes," said Aronson. "I'm talking 20 deep on the phone — one call, two call, three call, but we were prepared."

Aronson said seats are pretty much gone for opening day on May 21st and a handful of other games. The team will sell standing-room-only seats and spots on the grass as the season approaches.

The team is also working out a plan with landowners near the ballpark for tailgating. Aronson says the team hopes to announce the plan sometime in the next few weeks.

"It's going to be a party unlike any other we've ever thrown before," said Aronson.
