Steve Simon, Minnesota's new Secretary of State, has a big wish list.

Among the items on it: He'd like to see an earlier primary in Minnesota and a law that would allow 16- and 17-year-olds to preregister to vote. Some of Simon's ideas are getting consideration at the state Capitol this year.

Simon joined MPR News' Tom Weber to talk about voting issues in Minnesota, including early voting and restoration of voting rights for felons.
