Federal authorities believe about 15 or so young people have left Minnesota for Syria to join the terrorist network known as ISIS over the past year.

It is a tiny fraction of the thousands of Somali-American and East African youth who live here. But investigators and the Somali community continue to try to learn more about what actually lures otherwise regular teens into such a drastic life change.
