A 63-year-old St. Paul woman was killed in a crash just as rush hour hit Interstate 94 Monday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Mee Vue was driving westbound on I-94 when her Honda CRV crossed the grass median and hit a Ford pickup truck in an eastbound lane of the interstate near the Minnesota Highway 280 exit.

The pickup driver, Justin Honken, 34, also of St. Paul, is expected to survive his injuries.

The State Patrol is still investigating but said at this point no alcohol was detected.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes of I-94 for several hours beginning at around 4 p.m. Traffic heading east on 94 was re-directed north on 35W and MnDOT told drivers to avoid the crash area until 8 p.m.
