Prosecutors have filed murder charges against a 21-year-old Chicago man in connection with a shooting Wednesday morning that killed two people in a parked SUV in north Minneapolis.

Brian Deshawn Morse is charged with two counts of second-degree murder. He was arrested Wednesday, shortly after the shooting.

The Hennepin County medical examiner said Odell Frazier, 47, and Eddie James Pelmore, 56, died as a result of gunshot wounds to the head.

An officer who responded to the shooting saw two men running from the area, and caught Morse after a foot chase. According to the criminal complaint, the officer saw Morse throw a gun over a fence before he was arrested.

Police said they had recovered the gun and matched it to the shootings. They are still seeking a second suspect.

According to the complaint, Pelmore was driven to the neighborhood by a witness who said that Pelmore intended to sell some marijuana. That witness said he saw two men get out of the car after the shots were fired.

Morse, who reportedly had blood on his pants, initially denied any involvement in the shooting but later admitted that he was present. He said another person shot both of the victims.
