The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra's 2015-16 season, announced Wednesday, includes six world premieres, a new Sunday concert series at the Ordway and a tour of Asia.

In November the SPCO will travel to Taipei, Taiwan, Singapore and Jakarta, Indonesia, to perform with artistic partner Martin Frost.

Kyu-Young Kim, SPCO senior director of artistic planning, said the orchestra hasn't toured in recent years and that other tours, including to Europe, are planned.

"Having those opportunities to play outside are tremendous growth opportunities, both artistically and for getting our name out there and into the marketplace," Kim said.

He also elaborated on the new works, which includes the first in what's being called the Beethoven Five series. New pieces will be written for pianist Jonathan Biss, each to be paired with a Beethoven piano concerto.
