Kahn wants Somali community input on anti-terror state money

Government officials and Somali community leaders are working to figure out the best strategy to combat terrorist recruitment.

A Minnesota House panel voted this week to amp up state funding for the issue. The vote came shortly after the announcement of charges against six men who were allegedly trying to join the terrorist group ISIS fighting in Syria.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with DFL Rep. Phyllis Kahn of Minneapolis, who proposed the state funding increase.
