The St. Paul Art Crawl is in full swing this weekend with studio tours and live music spread across the city. Metro Transit is offering free rides on buses and light-rail to and from the festivities: You can download a free transit pass from the St. Paul Art Crawl.

The art crawl got its start in the early 90s when a group of artists in Lowertown arranged a weekend-long tour through warehouses reclaimed by artists. The five original warehouses — 262 Studios, The Jax, Lowertown Lofts Artist Cooperative, The Tilsner Artist Cooperative and the Northern Warehouse Artist Cooperative — are still home to art studios and have their doors open for this year's crawl.

Lowertown remains the epicenter of the crawl, but it has grown to include more than 30 locations showcasing 300 different artists. The crawl runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

This is just a taste of all the art on display; a complete list of participants is available from the St. Paul Art Crawl.
