Hurray for the Riff Raff will be performing Friday night at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis.

NPR selected "The Body Electric" as 2014's Political Folk Song of the Year. It was written and sung by the band's leader, Alynda Lee Segarra.

She told NPR, "the song has taught me there is a true connection between gendered violence and racist violence. It will hopefully continue to do its work by encouraging the listener to question the culture of violence we are living in."
