I-94 closing tops weekend metro traffic hassles

As if you needed more reminding, Interstate 94 in St. Paul closes at 10 p.m. tonight in both directions between Minnesota Highway 280 and Interstate 35E until early Monday morning.

That will likely be the toughest roadblock this weekend, but it won't be the only one. Here's a look at some of the major construction hassles this weekend from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

• Minnesota Highway 5 in St. Paul. Watch for lane and ramp closures on Highway 5 in St. Paul by Fort Snelling.

• Minnesota Highway 51/Snelling Avenue. In St. Paul's Hamline-Midway area, the Snelling Avenue bridge spanning I-94 is closed through Aug. 22. Also remember the weekend closure of I-94 beneath the bridge.

• Minnesota Highway 65 in Fridley. Expect lane and ramp closures through the weekend in this stretch while crews pave the road.

• Interstate 494 in Plymouth. Many lane and ramp closures. County Road 47 between Yucca Lane and Teakwood Lane is closed through late May.
