People of color need white allies.

The Counter Stories crew appreciates white people who, among other things, embrace the concept of white privilege, seek a higher level of racial consciousness and advocate for social justice.

In other words, people who walk the talk.

But sometimes — and this is a delicate subject — can white people go too far in their efforts to support people of color?

When racial tensions are high, white allies become mobilized. Dixon White, the so-called "anti-racist redneck" whose video rants against white privilege and fear went viral, is a case in point.
