BNSF: Employee died in NE Mpls. accident near tracks

BNSF Railway officials say an employee died while working near train tracks in northeast Minneapolis Monday.

Amy McBeth, a BNSF spokesperson, said the incident happened around 11:45 a.m. She said BNSF employees were unloading track material when a locomotive on another track struck the material, which then hit the worker.

The employee, who has not yet been identified, sustained fatal injuries.

BNSF officials and other emergency responders are on the scene.
