Guilty plea in Minneapolis double homicide

A 22-year-old Chicago man pleaded guilty Tuesday to killing two men in Minneapolis earlier this year.

Hennepin County prosecutors said Brian DeShawn Morse shot and killed Odell Frazier, 47, and Eddie Pelmore, 56, as the two men sat in a car on Minneapolis' north side in April. According to the medical examiner, both men died from gunshot wounds to the head.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a statement that the shooting was a vicious crime. Morse was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

Freeman said Morse pleaded guilty to lesser charges, but is still facing more than 50 years in prison.
