MN auditor: U should report adverse clinical trial events

The University of Minnesota should report patients' medical issues during clinical trials faster, according to Minnesota's legislative auditor.

A new report was released that examined the school's last decade of industry-sponsored studies. It found some researchers took months to report patient hospitalizations and in some cases submitted little information on adverse events during the trials.

Minnesota Legislative Auditor Jim Nobles joined MPR News' Tom Weber to discuss the report.
