Traffic was stalled in the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W Tuesday morning after a woman jumped from an overpass on 46th Street in Minneapolis.

The two left lanes on the interstate were closed shortly after 7 a.m. due to the incident, said Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Tiffani Nielson. The lanes were reopened shortly before 9:30 a.m.

The woman struck a car when she jumped from the bridge and was killed. The driver of the car was not injured, Nielson said.
