Prosecutors say a Minneapolis man was driving drunk when he hit a pedal pub with his car Wednesday night. The accident sent 12 people to the hospital.

The Hennepin County Attorney charged 35-year-old Mershon Corbett with six counts of criminal vehicular operation, including four felony counts and two gross misdemeanors.

According to the criminal complaint, the pedal pub was heading south on the Hennepin Avenue bridge when it was rear ended by Corbett's Monte Carlo. Witnesses told police there were no signs of braking before impact.

The pedal pub — a multi-passenger, slow-moving bar — was knocked onto its side. Corbett had to reverse his vehicle off the pedal pub and several people came to right the pub and free trapped passengers.

The injured pedal pub riders were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, Minneapolis police said.

The complaint says a breathalyzer test determined Corbett had a blood alcohol concentration of .214, more than twice the legal limit of .08.

He's expected to make his first court appearance Monday.
