Highway 5 between St. Paul, Fort Snelling closing
A key link between St. Paul and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport will be closed this weekend.
• The Minnesota Department of Transportation is closing Highway 5 starting about 1 a.m. Saturday.
• The bridge over the Mississippi River there is being resurfaced and had been narrowed to a single lane in each direction this spring. Crews are pouring a new deck on the eastbound lanes of Highway 5.
• The link between St. Paul and Fort Snelling is expected to reopen Saturday afternoon.
• The reconstruction project will run for another year.
