Greece's economic crisis, explained

Some believe a "Greek tragedy" with global implications is unfolding in Europe as world markets have been jumpy.

As it stands this morning: The European Union has said no to an eleventh-hour compromise suggested by Greece's prime minister. That occurred after Greece missed a sizable loan repayment to the International Monetary Fund. Any additional talks are on hold until Greek citizens vote in a country-wide referendum Sunday.
