Metro Transit: Person hit by Minneapolis bus dies

Metro Transit officials say a man died after being hit by a bus Wednesday.
The accident happened just before 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd Street South and 3rd Avenue South in downtown Minneapolis, Metro Transit spokesperson Howie Padilla said.
The bus was heading eastbound on 2nd Street turning north onto 3rd Avenue when it hit the pedestrian, Padilla added.
The man died at the scene. Metro Transit placed the driver on leave, which is standard practice.
The accident is under investigation. The man has not been identified.
