Novice driver sends pickup through store window

Police say a novice driver was behind the wheel of a pickup that went through a store's front window in the Twin Cities suburb of Woodbury, sending three people to a hospital with minor injuries.

Woodbury public safety spokeswoman Michelle Okada says the accident happened at a sporting goods store around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the pickup's driver was a juvenile with a learner's permit, and they were driving with a parent.

Okada says an adult and two juvenile customers were taken to a St. Paul hospital. Two employees were evaluated at the scene for minor injuries.

According to Okada, a citation was not issued at the scene, but is still being considered.
