A third state official connected with legalizing medical cannabis has gone to work with one of the companies growing it.

Jamie Olson was a legislative analyst and a key figure in the startup of the industry. She helped lead the initial public meeting as the state prepared to select two growers to supply medical cannabis.

She has since gone to work for one of them, joining former Assistant Health Commissioner Manny Munson-Regala and DFL state Rep. Dan Schoen at LeafLine Labs. Munson-Regala is the company's CEO and Schoen — a Cottage Grove police officer on leave — is working as a security consultant.

In a statement, Munson-Regala said that Olson would be the counsel and compliance officer for LeafLine, based in Cottage Grove. He said she started working for the company June 29. LeafLine isn't disclosing what any of them are being paid or if they're getting equity in the company.
