An Aspen Lecture about what it means to be human in the digital age. Sherry Turkle says conversation is the most humanizing thing we do, and we're not doing enough of it because we're texting and talking to machines. She says too much focus on robots reduces our empathy, self-reflection and creativity. Sherry Turkle is professor of the social studies of science and technology at MIT, and author of the forthcoming book "Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age."
