Norway's new Minnesota consul hopes to reach youth with Nordic roots

A son of Norway who came to the Midwest for college more than 25 years ago has been named Norway's top official in the upper Midwest.

Eivind Heiberg, new consul general of the Royal Norwegian Honorary Consulate General in Minneapolis, will serve the nearly 900,000 Minnesotans with Norwegian roots. Heiberg, 44, was born outside of Oslo and came to the U.S. when he was 18 to attend Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.
