A gas leak occurred Monday morning in the Hiawatha neighborhood of south Minneapolis.
The leak occurred shortly before 11 a.m. near the intersection of 42nd Street and Minnehaha Avenue after a contractor hit a gas line, according to CenterPoint Energy spokesperson Rebecca Virden.
She said about 10 people were temporarily evacuated for safety reasons, but that the leak was under control in about 20 minutes.
