Fifty years ago, the Beatles performed live at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington.

It was the band's first and only visit to Minnesota — and the only stop on their tour that year that didn't sell out.

During a press conference before the show, an employee of a Minneapolis guitar shop presented George Harrison with a 12-string electric Rickenbacher guitar.

Beatles lore says Harrison played that guitar in the studio a year later when the Beatles recorded playing the Carl Perkins song "Everybody's Trying to be My Baby."
