Work will continue through the weekend on a five-story mural of musician Bob Dylan at Fifth and Hennepin in downtown Minneapolis.

Renowned Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra and his crew began roughing in the image Wednesday. Joan Vorderbruggen of the Hennepin Theater Trust, which is overseeing the work, says the mural will feature three images of Dylan at different times in his career.

"The one on the left is a younger Bob Dylan," she said. "In the middle, a more middle-aged Bob Dylan, and the one on the right is the most recent. And so it's a look at Bob Dylan over the years and a comment on the changing times."

The mural, which will feature Kobra's distinctive kaleidoscope coloring, is due to be complete by Sept. 7.

A team of three Brazilians and two Minnesotans is helping Kobra with the work. The public is welcome to watch the mural take shape.
