Mpls. cops need public's help finding men in Uptown attack
Minneapolis police are still looking for two men suspected of choking and strangling a woman to the point of unconsciousness in Uptown last weekend.
The incident happened around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, as the woman was walking down the 2500 block of Aldrich Avenue South, according to a statement posted on the department's Facebook page.
A white male grabbed the woman, in her mid-20s, by the neck, police said. She sustained numerous injuries and when she woke up she found her purse and other belongings scattered around.
Good Samaritans heard the woman screaming, helped provide first aid and called 911. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment. Police released surveillance images of the suspects and are asking the public for help identifying them.
"We have pictures of two males using her credit cards the following morning," department spokesperson John Elder said Friday.
