With new Hy-Vee stores cropping up in Twin Cities, how will grocery mainstays compete?

It's the first full week of operation for the Twin Cities' newest grocery store chain: Hy-Vee opened stores in Oakdale and New Hope to much fanfare last Tuesday.

That movement leaves questions about how well the area's other grocery mainstays like Cub Foods and Lunds & Byerly's will be able to compete.

MPR News host Cathy Wurzer spoke with analyst Jennifer Bartashus, who covers the grocery industry for Bloomberg Industries.
