Victim in deadly Minneapolis shooting was a teenager

Officials say the victim in a deadly shooting in north Minneapolis last week was a teenager. Police say Tyrone D. Rice, Jr., 16, of Minneapolis, died of his injuries one day after he was shot in a parked car on Lyndale Avenue North near 27th Avenue North.

Police say Rice and three other people, including an infant in a car seat, were in the car when Rice was shot October 15. Minneapolis police are looking for a suspect.

The shooting was the fifth in a series of shootings across the Twin Cities in which someone was killed or injured.

A suspect was arrested in one of those shootings. On Saturday, police arrested a 50-year-old man in the shooting death of a woman at a Minneapolis bus stop.

Police say the has been jailed pending potential murder charges in the death of Jessica St. Marie, 28, who was shot in the head during an argument October 13 at a bus shelter at Lake Street and Park Avenue. She later died at Hennepin County Medical Center.

This was the first arrest announced in any of the cases. Authorities have said in each of the cases that the general public is not at risk.
