NPR reporter Tom Gjelten has written a new book marking the 50th anniversary of the 1965 immigration law that he says is responsible for changing the character and identity of the United States, and forced us to define what American exceptionalism really means. Gjelten's new book is titled, "A Nation of Nations: A Great American Immigration Story." He spoke October 3, 2015 at the JFK Presidential Library in Boston.
