A parking app that allows smartphone users to pay for parking and add time remotely now works for meters across Minneapolis.

Mark Reed, assistant parking manager for the city, says around 8,400 users tested the app during the pilot phase.

"We started a trial eight weeks ago, North Loop, Target Field Area," Reed said. "The motorists seem to like it. We've managed to integrate it into our existing technology so everything is working."

The app charges 25 cents per transaction, or users can pay a 99-cent membership fee each month to bring that charge down to 15 cents.
