Funeral planned for trick-or-treater hit by car

Funeral services have been planned for the 5-year-old boy who was hit and killed by a car while trick-or-treating on Saturday.

Victor Uriel Laureano-Uriza was identified as the victim by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday.

The Minneapolis boy was hit by a car near the intersection of Knox Avenue North and Victory Memorial Parkway at about 9:25 p.m. on Halloween. Victor was transported to North Memorial Medical Center where he later died.

Minneapolis police are investigating the crash. Police have said the driver is cooperating and that neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be involved.

Funeral services for Victor are planned for 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel in Richfield.
