Today's Morning Edition music is from "Get Off of My Cloud" by the Rolling Stones, which was No. 1 on the Billboard pop chart 50 years ago Thursday.

According to Keith Richards, the song was basically a response to people knocking on their door asking for the follow-up to "Satisfaction," which had topped the charts a few months earlier. In 1971, Richards said, "I never dug it as a record. The chorus was a nice idea, but we rushed it as the follow-up. I thought it was one of Andrew Loog Oldham's worst productions."
