More than 45 pets rescued from Fargo house fire
Dozens of pets have been rescued from a house fire in Fargo.
Firefighters responded to the blaze shortly after 6:15 p.m. Sunday and saw flames and smoke through a hole in the roof. Flames were present in the attic area, but the first two floors of the home only contained light smoke.
Much of the fire was contained within the first 15 minutes and it was extinguished within about 35 minutes.
The Fargo Fire Department says at least 40 birds, along with several cats, turtles and a lizard were removed from the home. None of the pets were injured in the fire.
All three of the home's human occupants had evacuated before fire crews arrived on the scene.
Fire investigators determined the blaze was cause by an electrical short.
