Dayton's proposed water funding could help cities like Tracy
Minnesota's water will be the subject of increasing attention as we head into the legislative session this spring.
Gov. Mark Dayton is pushing for changes to clean up rivers, lakes and drinking water across the state.
As part of that push, he's proposing significant funds be sent to cities and towns to update aging water treatment plants and sewer systems, including about $10 million for the small town of Tracy in southwestern Minnesota.
Tracy is one of many cities struggling to meet water quality standards and process wastewater. MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Mike Votca, Tracy's city administrator.
