Sony Pictures and Minnesota-based developers have unveiled plans for a huge indoor theme park, hotel and convention center complex that will sit next to the Albertville Premium Outlet malls about 35 minutes from Minneapolis.

The project, which is expected to include an indoor waterpark, promises "breathtaking experiences" that will draw Minnesotans and tourists after it's built. Developers dubbed it the "Mall of Entertainment."

One of the partners in the proposed development, iP2, opened a similar project last year in the Philippines, a DreamWorks-themed, indoor amusement park called "DreamPlay."

The Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper reports the Albertville project is valued at $115 million and expected create 2,000 jobs.
