Metro Transit bus driver pleads guilty to soliciting teen

A Metro Transit bus driver has pleaded guilty to soliciting a 16-year-old girl for sex.

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said Friday that 33-year-old Mahmud Dabshir Aden of Minneapolis pleaded guilty to one count.

Sentencing is set for April 8. Aden will be on probation for five years and also must serve 90 days in the workhouse.

Aden was arrested after the teenager filed a complaint about the Oct. 5 incident.

According to the complaint, Aden refused to let the girl off at her stop, continuing his route.

The complaint says Aden turned off the lights and exposed himself, after telling the girl he would give her $100 and a cellphone if she performed a sexual act on him.

A spokesman says Aden is no longer employed by Metro Transit.
