Who do we become when we talk to machines?

Sherry Turkle says conversation is the most humanizing thing we do, and we're not doing enough of it because we're texting and talking to machines.

She says too much focus on robots reduces our empathy, self-reflection and creativity.

Turkle is a professor of the social studies of science and technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and author of "Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age." She spoke June 30, 2015.
