Officers identified the survivor as a valid holder of a permit to carry a handgun and that he'd reported shooting the other man during an attempted robbery, said Deputy Police Chief Mark Bruley.

Police believe both men fired. Bruley said the permit holder suffered a minor injury.

"We recovered two weapons, at this time, both the valid permit to carry holder and the suspect, or the person who had been deceased," he said.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the shootings and the incident. They've made no arrests and plan to present their findings to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office for review.
