From free events to family fun to adults-only, here's a roundup of events to get you out of the house.

St. Paul hosts Crashed Ice


This year's Crashed Ice will also feature, for the first time, a women's championship. In previous years, women have participated in only specific Crashed Ice events.

 Warm weather forced it to shut down last weekend, but the 

 is back for one final weekend in White Bear Lake.


The shanties will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 


If you hurry, you can catch five big films at the Science of Museum's Omnitheater — 

Meet some of the wildlife of the Great Lakes, witness nature's most fearsome and fascinating forces or explore the world's tropical rainforests. If that's not your thing, you can take in the holy sites of Jerusalem or uncover the secrets of the humpback whale.

 The force is strong this Saturday afternoon at the museum's 

 Build jitterdroids, launch stargliders, test your "Star Wars" IQ in the Jedi trials and more.  All activities are included in regular museum admission. 

For adults: Get crafty with wine and beer


Get your drink on by (responsibly) celebrating craft beer and wine this weekend. 

 at Union Depot will feature more than 80 brewery and brewpub members of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild.

Tee off beginning Friday at the 10th annual 

 in downtown Minneapolis, benefiting the 


The mini-golf tournament features golf holes designed by leading Minneapolis-based architects and contractors, and located throughout the skyway system.


Six- and eight-dog sled teams will race this weekend at the eighth running of the 


Come Saturday for the vet checks and/or arrive early Sunday to meet the mushers and their canine teammates.


The first eight-dog team will leave the start line at 9 a.m. Sunday for the 50-mile race, followed by subsequent teams every two minutes. Once all eight-dog teams have departed, the six-dog teams start their 30-mile race.
