This week on Art Hounds: Guerrilla Girls wrap up their Twin Cities takeover, and "The Averagers!" spoof The Avengers.

Amy Buchanan, the creator of Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret and Burlesque Show, is pumped for all the Guerrilla Girls events happening this weekend as they finish up their "Twin Cities Takeover." Buchanan is particularly thrilled that the Guerrilla Girls are going to be talking with teenage girls about how they, too, can be artist-activists; she also plans to attend their "Talkover" at the State Theater in Minneapolis. Find out more about these and other Guerrilla Girls events at their website.

Theater-maker Derek "Duck" Washington highly recommends checking out Comedy Suitcase Productions' "The Averagers!" It's a spoof on Marvel's "The Avengers," but with a distinctly Minnesotan flair. Black Widow is replaced by Black Wood Tick, and Thor the God of Thunder is replaced by Paul Bunyan, man of lumber. Washington says this show is appropriate for young kids and anyone who's into superheroes. "The Averagers!" runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in March at the Bryant Lake Bowl in Minneapolis.

Potter Craig Edwards just checked out Sam Johnson's show of ceramic art at Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minn. Edwards says Johnson's dark vessels are like old, mysterious friends you want to get to know better, but require a little time to tell their stories. The show is at the Willmar campus through March 16, and then moves to Hutchinson, Minn., where it's up through April 22.
