BCA names Burnsville cops in McDonald's lot suspect shooting

The Burnsville police officers who shot and killed a person with a weapon in a McDonald's parking lot Thursday morning have been named.

According to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, they are:

• Sgt. Patrick Gast, 13 years with the department

• Officer Tylor Jacobs, four years with the department

• Officer John Mott, eight years with the department

• Officer LynRae Tonne, 17 years with the department

• Sgt. Maksim Yakovlev, 16 years with the department

All five have been placed on administrative leave.

Burnsville police have declined to provide details on the suspect or weapon, deferring questions to the BCA. The BCA said initial interviews have been completed with the five officers.
