Congressional Quarterly's Roll Call just named Lt. Gov. Tina Smith one of the 25 most influential women in state politics. Smith said she is optimistic about Minnesota's future because so many Minnesotans are inventive, and are always figuring out better ways to do things.

She spoke March 14, 2016 at the Eugene J. McCarthy Center for Public Policy and Civic Engagement at the College of St. Benedict and St. John's University. The moderator was Liz Fedor of Twin Cities Business.
