Highway 100 closing this weekend, again

Highway 100 is closing again this weekend.

Both directions of Highway 100 will close between Interstate 394 and state Highway 62 starting at 9 p.m. Friday, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

MnDOT is closing the road so crews can begin demolishing the Highway 7 bridge, part of a larger Highway 100 project that'll reconstruct some of the roadway and add lanes in the west metro.

Detours will route drivers around the closed roadway using I-35W, I-394, U.S. Highway 169 and state Highway 62.

The transportation agency says drivers should give themselves extra time or find alternate routes if they plan to travel in the closed area.

The closures are set to last until 5 a.m. Monday.
