Boy, 10, loses leg playing on train in north Minneapolis

Police say a 10-year-old boy's leg was severed as he played on a moving train in north Minneapolis.

The accident happened Saturday afternoon at train tracks near Webber Park. Police say three boys, including the victim, were hopping on and off a slow-moving train.

Officers used a tourniquet to stop the boy's bleeding. WCCO-TV reports he was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, and is expected to survive.
