On Earth Day, and the first day of MPR's Water Month, global scientist Jonathan Foley gives a Chautauqua Lecture on the ways our current system of food production damages water and the environment, and discusses his controversial National Geographic cover story.

Formerly director of the University of Minnesota's Institute on the Environment, Foley is now head of the California Academy of Sciences. He spoke at the Chautauqua Institution in 2014.
